Bamboo flutes

with wooden endcaps

We make two styles, one based on the river cane flute made by the Cherokee of north eastern US and the Central American style with a projecting mouth piece. Our bamboo is sourced locally, it’s then dried for several months to prevent splitting. In the finishing process the flute is sealed with a hard shellac and the bore is oiled to protect the flute. Wooden endcap are included in the design at the nodes to strengthen the mouthpiece and to be able correctly tune the fundamental note.
